Coverage Needed (CN) is a term applied to any day in a bid month when not enough Flight Attendants bid in PBS to fly on that day. PBS will award as many Flight Attendants as possible to be off on a particular day.

This afternoon, National President Julie Hedrick called to order the 2024 APFA Board of Directors Fall Meeting at APA Headquarters. The assembly approved the final agenda, which you may view here.
The APFA Board of Directors Fall Meeting will be held October 16-17, 2024, at APFA Headquarters. In accordance with the APFA Policy Manual, the Tentative Agenda for this meeting is now available on APFA.org.

Depression is the most common form of mental illness in the United States, with around 22 % of adults suffering from depression as of 2022. Too often, depression is misunderstood as simply “feeling sad”.

Updated language in Section 10.J.1.b of the CBA covers pay protections for the loss of sequences due to natural disasters. This provision was implemented on October 1, 2024 (Date of Signing).
In accordance with 2024 CBA 3.K, Flight Attendants will receive Holiday Pay for the flight legs you work that touch designated holiday days. Holiday Pay will be paid to all Flight Attendants

The 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) introduces some important enhancements to Section 12 – Reserve Duty. Many provisions take effect today, or in alignment with the November bid month
Wage increases in the 2024 CBA also bring increased operating costs for APFA. As a result, individual departments at APFA are restructuring some member resources to reflect the increased costs.
CBA Section 26.G incorporates a new option to convert your existing sick bank to a Retiree Health Reimbursement Account (RHRA) upon retirement. The RHRA may be used to reimburse a retiree’s and/or a retiree’s eligible dependent’s medical expenses
The newly ratified 2024 Collective Bargaining Agreement provides for improvements in the eligibility for Speaker Flight Attendants to drop a foreign language qualification.

Yesterday, DOT Secretary Duffy ordered a reduction in flight capacity at 40 major airports beginning tomorrow, with further cuts expected in the coming days if the government shutdown continues.
